David began doing woodworking when he was 6 years old, and has been working at his craft professionally since 1988. Each piece David makes is created completely by him, from concept to design, to wood selection, construction, and finishing.
"Wood can be a very sensual medium, depending on the approach and how it is used. While I was trained in the traditional methods of joinery and furniture construction, and apply them in my designs, my main interest and focus is an exploration of form. I like to work with organic, sculptural forms, and prefer to create pieces that are about curves and volumes rather than straight lines and flat planes. To achieve this, each of my pieces involve some amount of carving and shaping, and is unique in its design."
