A second-generation glass blower,
Gabriel makes “free blown” art glass using traditional blowing techniques. His glass is functional and decorative,
designed to be used daily, and is made of pure Swedish Crystal.
In my glass I have two extremes. On one hand I can be technically proficient
and blow a piece with absolutely true lines and form, set up on a pristine
crystal pedestal, such as on a Compote or Stemmed Trumpet Vase. Conversely, I make work that is highly
colorful with swirls or stripes or other optic patterns on a shape that is much
more true to how the glass flows and reacts instead of being manipulated into
shape. I feel my work is meticulous yet
free spirited and it’s important for me to have that yin-yang approach. I am always exploring new colors and styles
and looking for where I can take it next. I see no end in sight.
