FIBER ART Edith House

Weaver

Edith-House---Scarf-11-6a.jpg

Edith has loved the age-old craft of weaving for thirty-five years, exploring and experimenting with many of its techniques. Edith had woven rag rugs for many years. Then she discovered the charm of weaving scarves, which in her mind are just mini-rugs. She starts with a mountain of cast off silk garments and cuts them into rectangles of different patterns and colors. Then she sews them together into a giant patchwork, which gets cut into narrow bias strips that can be woven on a silk warp.
