dug Nap is a self-taught artist who was born in montpelier, Vermont, and always loved to draw. One of his favorite childhood memories is drawing cowboys with a friend. dug started painting while a patient in the hospital and found it very theraputic. He attended various schools in Vermont, briefly went to a military prep school in New Jersey, and graduated from Johnson State College in Johnson, Vermont. dug usually works in oils on birch plywood, although he occasionally works in acrylics or gouache. dug Nap currently lives in Burlington, Vermont with his cat, Lucas, named after one of dug's favorite painters, Lucas Cranach.
