The stoneware of Thistle Hill Pottery is created with the functional tradition of the old folk potteries in mind. Each piece is designed for a specific functional use, as well as being pleasing to the eye. Jennifer has been a full time production potter since 1976. She threw her first pots at Goddard College in 1972 and had to drop everything else from that moment on. The college also provided a structure in which she could apprentice in a production studio for almost a year. That gave her a real feeling for what a life in clay would be like. She built her own gas kiln and developed a line of hand made functional stoneware serving pieces, dinnerware, vases, lamps and more, decorated with cobalt blue brushwork on an off white, jade or gray background. She exhibits her work at shows and galleries in Vermont. The pots are microwave, dishwasher and oven safe as well as lead-free.
