Watercolor Painting
I am passionate about watercolor because I love the spontaneous nature of this medium. I love the way it interacts with wet paper, and the beautiful glow that is created when the white of the paper reflects through the paint. After creating a dramatic value plan, I start by painting wet into wet, using a big brush, laying in my major big shapes. I then work the entire painting, rather than one section at a time, therefore creating unity. I work on site, or from my own photos, so I have a good sense of the place, or my subject. My goal is to convey to you, the viewer, my feelings and excitement about my subject.
