PHOTOGRAPHY Lodiza Lepore
Two Left Eyes - Fine Art Photography

Lodiza is a fine art photographer who uses black and white film and hand prints/tones each and every image in a traditional darkroom. No computers are used to reproduce the work, so no two images are exactly alike.
Lodiza became completely impassioned with the art form after taking her first class in darkroom. When the course was finish she was invited to submit her work to be juried for the upcoming coffee table book called “Image Is Rochester” in 1995. They published 16 of her images. This was all the encouragement that she needed to continual her passion.
All images are hand printed from film in a traditional darkroom setup. She does not use Photoshop or other computer enhancements. Almost without exception, all work is done on black and white film—the exception based on specific request. She often experiments with darkroom techniques that yield textural or impressionists’ qualities to the images.
Since each piece is hand printed and individually toned, no two prints are ever identical. Lodiza frequently spilt tone her work using sepia and selenium. Selenium not only helps to bring out and enrich the black tones, it also acts as a preservative insuring print longevity for 100+years.
