Barred Owl

A common owl of the Vermont woodlands, the barred owl sometimes has to "day light" for a living during winter. This owl was a frequent visitor to our property one February and gave me many photographic opportunities . On this day he was scanning the ground for mice when he looked up for this wildlife portrait.
