Silkscreen is a stencil process which uses a wooden frame with high density monofilament mesh. The screen is blocked in areas to create the image. Non toxic, waterbased ink is drawn across the screen with a squeegee. The ink goes through the screen wherever there is an opening onto the paper below. Each color is printed separately by either the reduction or multi-screen method.
Accord is a five color silkscreen print. After all of the colors were printed I strung a piece of thread between the birds, linen taping the ends of the thread to the back of each print. Accord is printed on Lenox, a 100% cotton acid-free paper. Archival quality matting and mounting materials are used in the presentation of this print. There are 100 prints in the edition with 2 Artist Proofs. Each original print is signed and numbered by the artist.
