My passion is to expand my palette of available colors by creating new colors via chemical interactions, layering and mixing.
Jon holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Arts, a self-designed major which is a mixture of computer science and studio art. Jon first started experimenting with bead-making in his wife’s glass studio using a propane-oxygen torch and Bullseye glass (made in Portland, OR). He quickly became hooked on the medium and fascinated with the range of colors, the translucency and the chemical properties. The Jewelry line is designed to best showcase his glass beads. He feels that his early career used one part of his education and his new career exercises the other half. He also likes to think that he is in a way rejoining the family business. His parents started their craft store the year he was born. For many years they went on expeditions throughout the world to bring back fine handmade crafts. He grew up surrounded by the fruits of their labor.
