CAROL CRAWFORD

MT HOLLY, VERMONT

Carol is a weaver who works out of her studio, on top of a steep hill in Bakersfield, Northwestern Vermont. She has woven on various looms since 1972, when she moved into an abandoned house at the foot of Snake Mt. Addison with a group of fellow Middlebury College students.

The attic of the house had a large 19th century barn loom. She taught herself weaving and has been weaving almost daily ever since, working on ever more complex looms. She and her husband built their house and studio in 1978 and raised their sons amongst large gardens and many acres of woodland.

Always interested in nature , her work reflects the landscape where she has spent her adult life. She has shown her work throughout the Northeast at shows and in galleries.

We have a limited selection for our online store. Please call the gallery to inquire about a specific piece seen in-store.
