ANNELEIN BEUKENKAMP

BURLINGTON, VERMONT

Watercolor is the fluid and sometimes unpredictable medium that will forever fascinate Annelein. She has painted with this colorful medium for three decades and continues to try and harness its pigments into a balanced painting consisting of hard and soft edges, bright and neutral hues, bold and subtle shapes and loose and tight brushstrokes. Florals have been an important subject throughout the years for Annelein and reflect proudly back to her Dutch roots. She has painted many different varieties of blossoms and blooms in a kaleidoscopic array of colors that capture a flower’s essence and impressionistic representation. Watercolor can surprise, delight, frustrate and intimidate, but mostly it inspires her to dip into my palette and translate what she sees into what has been described by collectors as happy, fun and joyful work.

Annelein minored in studio art at the University of Vermont, where she graduated with a BA in French. This was followed by a career in art materials sales and management. It was there that Annelein learned about the wonderful world of creative products and the unique art of professional framing. Since becoming a full time artist over 16 years ago, Annelein has been able to travel and teach far and wide, including worldwide cruises. She has licensed her work internationally for a variety of products and exhibit locally and beyond. Annelein is a proud signature member of several watercolor societies.
