ANNE MAJUSIAK

BRISTOL, VERMONT

As a Vermont photographer, I feel fortunate to be surrounded by our rich and varied landscape of incredible natural beauty. I am inspired by our mountains, rivers and lakes, woodlands, villages and farms, night skies brilliant with stars, and our magnificent four seasons that each have a unique splendor. I never know when something might catch my eye so, my rule is to always carry my camera with me. My favorite images are those that reveal themselves to me when my heart is open to the world around me and I suddenly find myself captivated by a scene I may have passed dozens of times before. Many of my photographs are shot within 30 miles of my Vermont home. The trails, roads, hills, villages, and farms are familiar, but when I am in that magical place of openness, I see familiar scenes through new eyes.

I first studied photography at university some 45 years ago when it was all about film and negatives and pungent chemicals in darkrooms. Since then, photography has evolved dramatically and my camera is now digital. Ultimately for me, though, photography’s essence is still how one sees the world and how one expresses that vision.

Throughout my life I have continued to nurture my innate creativity through the lens of a camera.  Currently I am exploring the technique of Intentional Camera Movement which results in a painterly, somewhat abstract quality to my images. I hope you like how I see my world.

We have a limited selection for our online store. Please call the gallery to inquire about a specific piece seen in-store.
